Hugh Crossan Hislop (shuggy) was found dead on the 19th july 1997 aged 29 he had various occupations but his favourite job was when he was the manager in sainsburies. Hugh lived with me my husband & family in Douglas Rd in Renfrew. There were 6 of us Catherine, William, Wendy, Myself (liz), Hugh & Alex. Hugh was found dead in his girlfriends flat ,he had been put on medication by his Dr, which did not agree with him. Hugh died of ophrenedrine intoxification. His medication was too strong for him & he died as a result of this. I hope and pray that he did not suffer and i know darling, you are watching us from above, as every day feel your warmth and love. Your now back where you belong with our mother. We shall all one day be united again someday. You are always in our thoughts darling. Shall live forever in our hearts xxx
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, 'I welcome you.'
'It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night....'My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.'
So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go....
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going....
you're coming here to be with me
I miss you my brother, my friend

I'll never forget the good times we had,
My darling brother, a sweet little lad.
We shared an awful lot of pain & sadness.
Our childhood lives were filled with madness.
I now know you're somewhere safe
Hopefully in mothers embrace.
My heart's filled with love, my eyes with tears,
For all of the stolen years.
I want you here. You were taken away,
I promise you one thing in my heart you'll. Stay.
I'll love you forever, the pain won't stop ever,
You were taken from us & it still makes me shiver.
I saw your young body lie still,on that couch that day.
The vision in my head is there to stay.
I couldn't believe your life was over, I cried for me
If I'm honest to myself I'm glad you're now set free.
The horrors we lived, were alive in your head
Now that you're gone, you can rest instead.
I will love you forever my sweet little brother
Whilst you rest give a hug to our mother.

A better friend i'll never find
We battled always to be better than the other, but to be sure he was the one to battle for that title.
My dearest and best friend always
Always had a listening ear
always there to share a tear
many a time to hug and cheer
his friendship was the best no fear
in my heart I hold him dear

shuggy i am so sorry that your gone and i didnt no it is because i got out of shortroods 23 years ago and i didnt keep in touch with anyone i only found out through your sister liz and i was so shocked you were one of the good guys dont understand y you where taken but i am sure god had his reasons but i am sure you are bringing happieness in heaven no doubt xx

An Angel kissed my tears away today
when I was feeling sad.
I wasn't feeling quite myself
my day had been so bad.
I felt a warmth brush by me
that quickly dried my tears.
A gentle, kind, and loving touch
that seemed to hold me near.
Immediately, I felt so much better
and the day seemed brighter too.
I guess that's just the way you feel
when an Angel comforts you.
